Ionuț Topală is a graduate in medical physics, Faculty of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi. He completed his master’s studies in physics, specializing in plasma physics, spectroscopy and self-organization, at the Faculty of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iași and obtained his doctorate after a co-tutelship Romania – France, in the field of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan” University Cuza” from Iasi – Faculty of Physics and Chemical Sciences, Université Montpellier II – Institut Européen des Membranes. In 2020, he obtained the habilitation certificate in the field of doctoral studies in Physics.
Areas and directions of interest and research:
- low temperature plasma physics; generation, control, diagnosis and applications;
- new discharge configurations for the generation of pulsed plasmas at atmospheric pressure;
- single-pulse and multi-pulse diagnosis of pulsed plasmas; plasma parameters and statistical variability;
- plasma physics and life sciences: the effects of plasma on tissues, cells, biomolecules, bacteria and viruses;
- plasma-assisted synthesis and laser radiation of meso/nanoscopic structures and layers;
- applications of plasma-assisted processes: technological sources, surface state modification, laboratory experiments for astrophysics
