Agheorghiesei Cătălin has a degree in physics, Faculty of Physics, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași. He graduated Advanced Studies Program in Plasma Physics and Spectroscopy and obtained a PhD in physics, specialization: plasma physics at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi.
Areas and directions of interest and research:
- studies of instabilities in low pressure bounded plasmas (low pressure plasmas with applications in laboratory techniques and in plasmons of thermonuclear interest)
- plasma electrical diagnosis (Langmuir probes, emission probes)
- virtual instrumentation techniques, automatic acquisition and processing of experimental data
- numerical modeling of dynamic processes for electrostatic space layers involved in plasma instabilities
- analysis of experimental data in the field of High Energy Particle Physics within the Atlas Detector project at CERN Geneva
