She obtained the PhD in Biology in 2007 at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, Romania. Her research interests are related to the biodiversity of Cerambycidae (Insecta, Coleoptera), especially the tribe Dorcadionini, a very speciose group and one of the most challenging in terms of species identification as it is characterized by highly polytypic species. Use of molecular tools for species delimitation (in collaboration with colleagues specialized in molecular systematics from the research group Invertebrate Diversity and Phylogenetics). Study of collections in natural history museums to infer past and current species distribution and for taxonomic revisions. Interspecific hybridization as a driver of diversity and cytogenetic characterization of different species. Biodiversity conservation and monitoring of species of community interest (Natura 2000). Monitoring of allochthonous and invasive coleopteran species.
